A family film, the weekend match or the children’s cartoons, on a screen far bigger than a TV: the HY200 turns a white wall into a big screen. Small and light, it sits on a shelf and tucks away in a drawer.
Its apps are already inside. YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video are installed, and the Play Store lets you add more. Just connect it to WiFi: no TV decoder or computer needed to watch your videos.
It turns to aim wherever you want. The head pivots on its stand: project onto the wall opposite, or onto the ceiling to watch a film lying down.
A straight picture with no effort. Automatic correction straightens the picture when the projector stands at an angle, and the focus wheel sets the sharpness for the distance to the wall. According to the manufacturer, the picture can reach 130 inches diagonally.
WiFi 6 and ports to plug in anything. WiFi 6 makes online playback smoother, and screen mirroring shows your phone’s screen with no cable. The HDMI port takes a TV decoder, a console or a computer, and the USB port plays videos from a USB drive.
A picture true to its size. The box says 4K: it plays these videos and scales them to its own, more modest resolution, like every mini projector of this size.
Good habit: project in a dark room, onto a smooth white wall or a screen. The picture gains a lot of contrast and colour; in daylight, a mini projector stays pale.
