The VideoMic GO II captures what is in front of it and ignores the rest: its directional capsule is made for the voice of a presenter or interviewee facing the camera. It sits in the camera hot shoe on its shock mount, needs no battery, and also plugs over USB-C into a phone or computer, where it becomes a complete recording microphone.
